Janullatos emerges from surgery, sent to intensive care

The surgery that the Archbishop of Albania, Anastasios, underwent on Friday afternoon at a hospital in Athens has been completed.

In the morning, Janullatos suffered a rapid deterioration in his health and was taken to intensive care, while a little later he underwent surgery on his small intestine.

The surgical team was led by the Director of the 3rd Surgical Clinic of Evangelismos, Stelios Kapiris, Greek media report.

Janullatos still remains in intensive care, with his health condition considered critical.
