A 36-year-old man was arrested by the Saranda police on the charge of setting fire to his land, then causing the burning of 3 apartments in the village of Livinë in the Municipality of Finić.

Yesterday, the 36-year-old started a fire on his land, but the flames got out of control, engulfing a large area of ​​bushes, as well as burning three houses in the village.

Police notification:

The 36-year-old man who set fire to his land yesterday, and the spread of the flames engulfed a very large area, partially burned 3 apartments and endangered several others, was arrested and put in handcuffs.

The investigative structures of the Sarandë Police Station, in cooperation with the services of the Special Force "Shqiponja" and the General Patrol, after the information provided by the police intelligence, located, captured and detained the wanted citizen MB, 36 years old, resident in the village of Livinë , Finic.

This citizen is suspected that on 11.09.2023, around 11:00, he started a fire on his land, in Livinë village, Finiq municipality, and when he saw that the fire was getting out of control, he left. The fire, favored by the wind, grew in size and as a result, 3 apartments in the village of Livinë were partially burned.

The procedural materials were passed to the Prosecution at the Court of First Instance of the General Jurisdiction of Sarandë, for further actions, for the criminal offense "Destruction of property by fire".
