Insult, desecration and complete lack of respect for another human being... This is how the English judge considered the murder of Agim Hoxha on April 10, 2012 in Southampton, while giving the final verdict for Arben Lleshi, accused of the event.
The judge stated that drug traffickers have the right to live like everyone else. Agim Hoxha was first killed in his apartment and then his body was put in a car, which was set on fire. It seems that the murder in this form and precisely the description that the judge himself gave of the crime, has incited the blood feud.
After Arben Lleshi was sentenced to life imprisonment in 2013, Agim Hoxha's family said that this was what they had been waiting for. For justice to be served.
And although justice was served for the incident that occurred in the United Kingdom, it seems that self-justification was moved to Albania. At least for Albanian justice, as a result of that murder that occurred in Southampton, there were 5 more murders that occurred in Mat and in Peqin Prison, although only recently was one of them solved.
The victims in Albania are the two uncles of the perpetrator of the murder of Agim Hoxha, their two sons, and Arben Lleshi himself, who was convicted by a British court for the 2012 crime.
The Special Prosecution Office, through messages obtained from the SKY platform, managed to document one of the 5 murders committed for blood feud motives.
The murder of Klevis Lleshi, which occurred in 2020. He was kidnapped in Burrel, killed and then buried in Mamurras, where he was later found and identified through DNA. But even though his family had always spoken with the names of suspected perpetrators, due to the 13-year enmity, it had never been possible to document his murder with evidence.
While today, after the dismantling of the SKY platform, it seems that even the most sophisticated crimes are being solved.
As results from SPAK's investigations, the murder of Klevis Lleshi appears to have been committed by a structured criminal group, which operated as a corporation of hired killers.
Special Prosecution Office
The Special Prosecution Office against Corruption and Organized Crime, within the framework of criminal proceedings no. 177, registered on 16.9.2025, is conducting in-depth investigations regarding several high-risk criminal offenses, committed in special cooperation in the form of a structured criminal group. The investigation, conducted in close cooperation with Europol, Eurojust, as well as the law enforcement authorities of France, Italy, Belgium, the Netherlands and Germany, enabled the unraveling of an organized criminal scheme involved in: Contract killings and blood feuds, including the concealment of corpses and the unauthorized possession of firearms; Laundering the proceeds of crime through suspicious investments in Albania and abroad.
According to SPAK, the investigations focused on several Albanian citizens involved in the organization and execution of murders in the territory of the Republic of Albania, in exchange for various monetary sums. The persons involved, by cooperating with each other, have managed to secure considerable sums of money, to contract persons to carry out murders for personal revenge or blood feud. Some members of this criminal group are suspected of having enabled the penetration of considerable amounts of illegally obtained money into the Albanian financial system, through investments of a suspicious nature and using these sums of money to commit criminal offenses against life and health.
During intensive investigations conducted by investigators of the National Bureau of Investigation, under the direction of special prosecutors, criminal activity was documented, as well as the identification of some of the suspected perpetrators of the aforementioned criminal offenses, some of which were committed in collaboration, in the form of a structured criminal group.
In this way, it was possible to identify the suspected perpetrators of the blood feud murder of Klevis Lleshi, an event that occurred on August 5, 2020, in the town of Burrel and then the hiding of his body, which was buried in the village of Shpërdhet in Mamurras. The victim's remains were discovered on December 8, 2020. SPAK announced on September 26, 2025 that the murder of Klevis Lleshi was allegedly carried out in exchange for a payment of 50 thousand euros.
While the illegal acts of blood feud murder, illegal possession and production of weapons, as well as the hiding of the corpse were committed within the framework of a structured criminal group. The leader of the structured criminal group and the person who ordered the blood feud murder is suspected to be Aurelinjo Kalaveri alias Aurel Hoxha, 36 years old. While the crime was committed in revenge for the murder of his brother, Agim Hoxha in the United Kingdom, in 2012.
SPAK officially informed that Sajmir Kalaveri, 43, is suspected of being the aide and intermediary, while Sabah Nuzi, 31, is suspected of being the perpetrator. In connection with this fact, an investigation is underway to identify other persons who may be involved in this criminal event.
Also, from the evidence administered, it results that Aurel Hoxha, in the role of creator, leader and organizer, has created a structured criminal group, with the aim of carrying out the illegal activity of laundering the proceeds of a criminal offense or criminal activity, where members of this structured criminal group are 31-year-old Samet Loka and other citizens who are still unidentified.
The illegal income of this criminal group is suspected to have been generated from the activity of trafficking narcotics from South American countries to European Union countries and Albania. The above information has been administered by law enforcement authorities of several European Union countries as well as by the analysis of communications on the encrypted SKY platform.
This illegal activity is suspected of generating monetary income, which served for investments in commercial activities, real estate and movable property, the exchange or transfer of assets, with the aim of concealing or covering their illegal origin, carrying out financial operations or fragmented transactions to evade reporting, according to the legislation on the prevention of money laundering. Following the request of the Special Prosecutor's Office against Corruption and Organized Crime, with decision no. 98, dated 25.9.2025, the Special Court against Corruption and Organized Crime, has imposed the security measure "arrest in prison", provided for by article 238 of the Code of Criminal Procedure against four Albanian citizens: Aurel Hoxha, Sajmir Kalaveri, Sabah Nuzi and Samet Loka.
Aurelinjo Kalaveri alias Aurel Hoxha, born on 06.12.1989, is suspected of the following criminal offenses: “Murder for blood feud”, to the detriment of the victim Klevis Lleshi, on 05.08.2020, committed in a special form of cooperation, that of a structured criminal group; “Illegal possession and production of weapons, explosive weapons and ammunition”, committed in cooperation in the form of a structured criminal group”; “Hiding or destruction of the corpse”, to the detriment of the victim Klevis Lleshi, committed in a special form of cooperation, that of a structured criminal group; “Structured criminal group”; “Committing criminal offenses by a structured criminal group and criminal organization”; “Laundering of the proceeds of a criminal offense or criminal activity” and “Structured criminal group”.
Sabah Nuzi, born on 25.06.1994, suspected of the criminal offenses of “Murder for blood feud”, to the detriment of the victim Klevis Lleshi, committed in a special form of collaboration, that of a structured criminal group; “Unauthorized possession and production of weapons, explosive weapons and ammunition”; “Hiding or disposal of a corpse”; “Structured criminal group” and “Committing criminal offenses by a structured criminal group and criminal organization”.
Sajmir Kalaveri, born on 19.05.1982, suspected of the criminal offenses of “Murder for blood feud”, to the detriment of the victim Klevis Lleshi, committed in a special form of collaboration, that of a structured criminal group; “Unauthorized possession and production of weapons, explosive weapons and ammunition”; “Hiding or destruction of a corpse”; “Structured criminal group” and “Committing criminal offenses by a structured criminal group and criminal organization”.
Samet Loka, born on 30.12.1994, suspected of the criminal offenses of “Laundering of proceeds of crime or criminal activity”, committed in a special form of cooperation, that of a structured criminal group; “Structured criminal group” and “Committing criminal offenses by a structured criminal group and criminal organization”.
The Special Prosecutors have issued the orders for the execution of security measures on September 25, 2025. The implementation of security measures against Sabah Nuzi and Samet Lokë was made possible by BKH investigators and the structures of the General Directorate of the State Police, while the search for the creator, organizer and leader of the structured criminal group Aurel Hoxha continues.
After cooperation with Europol and Italian law enforcement authorities, the arrest of Sajmir Kalaveri in Italy was made possible, for whom extradition procedures are expected to begin.
THE MURDER THAT INSTALLED THE BLOODY
On the evening of April 10, 2012, the body of a man was found burned inside a car near Southampton, United Kingdom. Police were able to quickly identify the victim, who was Albanian Agim Hoxha, 29 years old. Forensic analysis showed that he had been hit to death in the head with a metal object and then put in the car where the perpetrators had set him on fire, burning him. In the apartment where he lived, although it had been cleaned by the perpetrators of the incident, the police found traces of blood and a metal rod, with which it was suspected that the young man had been hit.
British police stated at the time that the exact motive for Agim Hoxha's murder was unknown, but believed he was killed in a flat in Shirley Road, Southampton over a drug issue. Post-mortem examinations revealed that he had died before the car caught fire, as no smoke was found in his lungs.
Police officers also found £42,000 hidden in one of his two cars after his death. The box was filled with banknotes and was hidden inside the boot of a second car, a grey Ford Mondeo, belonging to Agim Hoxha. Inside, a quantity of cocaine and heroin was also found.
By analyzing security camera footage from several areas where the victim's car had passed, the police were able to identify the perpetrator. It was Arben Lleshi, 27 years old at the time, who was actually a childhood friend of the victim. They were even suspected of carrying out illegal drug activities together, until their relationship broke down, according to the British competition police.
Arben Lleshi was under investigation for several weeks. The incident was even widely covered by the British media, which published photographs of him taken a few days after the crime, drinking champagne and enjoying a sumptuous meal in a five-star hotel. He seemed to be living a life of luxury. Smiling, happy in front of the camera with a girl he had just met online, Arben Lleshi was enjoying life without a trace of worry on his face about what he had just done.
But behind this facade was actually a murderer, who had left Southampton for Albania, with thousands of pounds in his pocket, which he suspected he had taken from the friend he had brutally murdered and whose body he had burned in the car.
In February 2013, Arben Lleshi began a life sentence that required him to spend at least 32 years behind bars after being found guilty of the murder of Agim Hoxha.
This decision was the result of detectives who had spent ten months working hard to solve a complex and difficult murder, involving an unidentified body, a killer who had fled the UK to a country without an extradition treaty. But also a victim who was a high-level drug trafficker who had never crossed their radar and a crime scene that could not initially be found. The search to capture Arben Lleshi took detectives on a journey thousands of miles away and it was a combination of clever police work and the shocking arrogance of Arben, who believed himself to be untouchable, that led to his capture.
British media
It was Friday 13 April 2012 when gambler and drug addict Arben Lleshi fled to Albania after buying a return ticket in cash from a Thomas Cook branch in Southampton. As a team of more than 100 police officers worked around the clock to try to solve the murder, it became clear that he and his neighbour were the prime suspects. But although they quickly realised that Agim Hoxha had been murdered before his body was burned, police were left baffled for almost two weeks as to where and how he had died, due to the probing questions of a detective who led them to the flat at 285 Shirley Road. Inside, despite attempts to clean up the scene, they found traces of Agim’s blood, while in a hidden place outside was the bar that was used to deliver the fatal blow to the head.
The neighbour who had helped the perpetrator was arrested, but just a month later, on 11 May 2012, Arben Lleshi was caught in Rome. He had been stopped on a flight from Albania to the UK. He had been arrested in his home country in front of confused passengers and had not contested extradition proceedings, resulting in him being returned in handcuffs, escorted by Hampshire officers, to be charged with murder. The inspector leading the investigation said they had no choice but to send detectives to Rome, as they were not sure whether Arben Lleshi would ever return of his own accord. The inspector said they could not go to Albania, so the only option was to wait until he got on the plane and then act. However, if he had chosen to stay there, they would have lost him. If Arben Lleshi had got off the plane in Rome, he could have disappeared forever.
Following the sentencing, there was a statement in the British media from the family of the victim, Agim Hoxha, who said they were waiting for justice to be served.
Family statement
What our family wanted was justice for Agim’s murder. Justice to be served. We thank Hampshire Police for the professionalism and support they have shown throughout this investigation. Agim’s death has left a huge void in the hearts and lives of his mother, father, his family in Albania and his close relatives in the UK. Agim was a good and loving son, brother and best friend to all. All who knew him considered him an extraordinary person, full of kindness and warmth and regardless of what he was involved in, he did not deserve to have his life taken in such a way or at such a young age.
THE SAGA OF THE BLOOD-RIGHT MURDER
One of the possibilities for introducing the murder weapon into Peqin Prison was by drone. However, nothing can be said with certainty until the investigation is complete.
Femi Sufaj: In fact, I also had doubts on the first day that the weapon could have been dropped by drone. But this is only one option, there could be dozens of other options. So only the competent authorities will say the right thing about this event.
When Arben Leshi was killed in prison, no one took his lifeless body for fear of revenge, and it was buried by the municipality services. Meanwhile, the event still remains unsolved. Like the previous murders that were suspected of having occurred due to blood feud, as a result of the crime he had committed in the United Kingdom, but for none of them sufficient evidence was found.
With the revelation of the murder of Klevis Lleshi, the son of Arben Lleshi's uncle, SPAK declares that it has also discovered a structured criminal group, composed of several Albanian citizens, involved in the organization and execution of murders in the territory of the Republic of Albania, in exchange for various monetary sums. The persons involved, by cooperating with each other, have managed to secure considerable sums of money, to contract persons to carry out murders for pay for personal revenge or blood feud.
So it seems that the murder of Klevis Lleshi may not be the only one committed by the criminal group led by Aurel Hoxha, now wanted.
The crimes that are now expected to be attached to the same file are the other 4 murders, the two uncles, the cousin and Arben Lleshi himself, who was executed with a gun in prison.
SKY helped uncover one of these crimes, which is just one of the links in the chain of blood feuds. Whether these murders are connected to each other and whether or not they were committed by the same criminal group, this now remains in the hands of SPAK, which is apparently facing a corporation of hired killers. /The show "Gjërat Tona"
