The mother of the 27-year-old girl who tried to drown with her four children in the waters of the Buna River through a confession has told how her daughter, who has been in the process of divorcing nine years, suffers from her husband.

The mother told News24 in an interview that the 27-year-old sent her a message saying I was at the Buna bridge and immediately alerted police to find her in a garden before committing the serious act. The 27-year-old's mother says the groom pointed a gun at her a few months ago, threatening her for a second affair with another woman and that he raped young children by sharing a photo.

The children's grandmother asks that the groom be stopped by police because he is the cause of the whole situation. She also appeals to the state to help her daughter find a house to house her because she is with four young children divorcing.

How did the event unfold?

My daughter came to our house because of the problems that her husband has been bringing for 9 years. We have always supported the girl and will continue to support her despite the difficult situation. We were having a discussion with the girl because she wanted to make an application in e-albania at the Municipality of Shkodra for housing but she told me that I don't have money. I told him to give it to me. He took the kids and went outside. He's done this a few times. He sent us an audio message and said I was at the Bridge of Buna. At that point they called the police, they came right away and we were able to find him. I couldn't talk to the girl because the police wouldn't let us. Then at the police station he gave his hand, kissed the children and gave him 20,000 old money because I had that. I've been told he's in a centre but I don't know where, I haven't communicated with the girl yet.

Why did the girl come to you with the kids?

The girl fled the house because her husband had a second affair with another woman and she had four children. He threatened my daughter several times and left her alone with four children and told her to leave the house. He even threatened her with a gun a few months ago. The girl has denounced him but no measures have been taken. My husband has raped my children and also committed psychological violence against my daughter. This story has been going on for years. The girl was also in a shelter in Tirana and had a protective order, but her husband went there even though he was not allowed to meet the children. She even took the center three days before she left because six months was the deadline, she convinced her daughter to reunite with her husband. They wanted to get her out of there before, telling her that she sees and finds a job and home at a time she is with four children and has no way to work. The state is aware of all this history but all these years have done nothing.

What are you looking for?

We want her husband to be banned by the police for everything he has done to his daughter all these years. He pointed a gun at him, threatened, raped children, psychologically violated the girl and all the time only with tricks and problems without wanting to know about the girl or the family. I don't understand why he's still free with all he's done.

What's your appeal?

We are in difficult economic conditions. My husband is with a kemp, I try to work and sometimes I get paid times I don't. I ask the state to put its hand on my heart and help my daughter and her four minor children. I ask him to find a house for shelter because we are unable to help him. She has four children and has to answer, she has no way of working. We ask the state to respond to this whole situation and find a solution for my daughter and the children.
