A serious criminal incident was prevented on the evening of August 24 in the Don Bosko area, in Tirana, after a conflict between several people inside a bar.

At around 22:00, the Police were notified of a conflict on “Don Bosko” Street. After the alert, the services of Police Commissariat No. 3, supported by the “Eagle” Forces, intervened in the premises of the “Omerta” bar.

During the physical search of Indrit Kallari , officers found and seized a "TT" type pistol firearm.

According to police suspicions, Kallari used the butt of his pistol to hit Arben Merkaj in the forehead during the conflict.

Indrit Kallari was arrested in flagrante delicto and is facing charges for the criminal offenses of "Unlicensed Production and Possession of Weapons" and "Serious Injury".

Following the investigative actions, Arben Merkaj, who turns out to be the injured person during the incident, was also arrested. He is charged with the criminal offense of "Failure to report a crime", as, according to the Police, he did not report the circumstances in which the conflict and injury occurred.

Police announcement:

Tirana/The immediate intervention of the Police neutralized a conflict that occurred last night, in Lapraka, between 2 citizens, one of whom was armed.

A 47-year-old man was shot with the butt of a pistol he was carrying without a permit, for weak motives, the 37-year-old was arrested in flagrante delicto. The 47-year-old is under investigation for failing to report this crime. The firearm with the magazine and cartridges are seized.

Immediately after the notification of a conflict on "Eshref Frashëri" street, between 2 citizens, at around 21:45 on 24.08.2026, the services of the Police Commissariat No. 3, in cooperation with the services of the "Eagle" Special Force, organized the work and went to the scene, to clarify the circumstances and responsibilities regarding this case.

As a result of rapid investigative and operational actions, the conflict was neutralized, and citizen IK, 37 years old, resident of Krujë, was arrested in flagrante delicto, who is suspected of having, for weak motives, struck citizen AM, 47 years old, resident of Lapraka, with the butt of a firearm (pistol) he was carrying without a permit.

Following these actions, proceedings were initiated against the 47-year-old, for the criminal offense of "Failure to report a crime".

The procedural materials were referred to the Tirana Prosecutor's Office for further action.
