The Special Court has accepted the shortened trial request for former Mayor Vangjush Dako, Fiqiri Farrukun, Fatmir Ejupin and Adrian Bulkun.

While for Ferzilet Hajdëri, Adnand Toçila, Diana Dedja, Bashkim Salillari and Hanza Reka, the request for ordinary trial and for the separation of the case from Vangjush Dako was accepted.

The latter at the previous hearing sought the declaration of the subject incomptancy and the submission of the case for trial to the Court of Durres, with the argument that the accusation that is weighing on them is not commentary for this court to be reviewed. Their request was struck down by Judge Elsa Olive.

Former Durres mayor Vangjush Dako is accused of committing the criminal offense "abuse of office" on two occasions. One case relates to the construction of a palace in Durres 11 years ago, which was destroyed by the earthquake in November 2019 and the other case concerns a tender for the construction of a promenade in 2014-2015, which has caused the state budget a damage of 18 million ALL.

Dako was arrested in June 2023 on the order of the Special Prosecution Office and was released in February this year, after SPAK failed to complete the court-appointed investigations within the deadlines.
