GJKKO gives the measure "prison arrest" for the former bodyguard of

Saimir Tahiri's former bodyguard, Hekuran Marku, will remain in prison at least until the end of the investigation.

The Special Court has given the decision "arrest in prison" against Marku, who is charged with "Narcotics trafficking", "Laundering of proceeds of crime", "Structured criminal group" and "Committing criminal offenses by a criminal organization and structured criminal group ”.

47-year-old Hekuran Marku was extradited the day before from Germany to Albania, to face the charges. Meanwhile, it is learned that Tahiri's other former bodyguard, Paulin Deda, is still free in France, as he has sought political asylum there and the French authorities are considering his request.

SPAK demanded their arrest several months ago, after their names appeared in the international operation codenamed "Spirit", an operation that handcuffed businessmen, prosecutors and senior State Police officials, accused of participating in criminal activities of drugs.

In 2016, when they were on duty and accompanying Tahiri, according to two justice collaborators, Marku and Deda, they were implicated in the trafficking of narcotics to Italy. The two boatmen caught by the Italian authorities in 2016 with over 1000 kilograms of cannabis, in front of the Italian investigators showed that the owners of the narcotics were exactly these people. From the testimony of the two penitents it appears that the two effectives, but also other members of the group used their duty as escorts of the minister to facilitate the illegal activity.
