The Court of Korça upheld the measure of prison arrest for the three witnesses to the murder of Egli Proga .
In the session for recognition of the security measure, the three arrested, Voltan Shkullaku, Arjan Manellari and Leonidha Guçe , denied having interfered with the security camera server.
The defense lawyers opposed the Prosecution's request for 'prison arrest', asking for an obligation to appear because according to them, the defendants had regularly appeared before the judicial prosecution officer.
The footage of the security camera server of Voltan Shkullak's bar has been examined in Bulgaria and the return of the footage is expected.
The three witnesses were previously released under the security measure of "obligation to appear". The Prosecutor's Office of Korça has concluded that there is interference in the internal camera of the bar where Egli Proga was raped and later found dead.
While the investigative body informs that it is in the process of returning the images, the police of Korçë have executed the order of the Prosecutor's Office for their detention after the Court of First Instance of Korçë has changed the security measure from " Compulsion to appear at the Judicial Police " , in " Arrest in prison ", for the criminal offense "Actions that hinder the discovery of the truth", for the event that took place in neighborhood no. 1 Pogradec, where citizen Egli Proga, 42 years old, lost his life.
These citizens were present when the event happened and did not report the crime, preventing the truth from being revealed.
On the evening of August 10, in district 1 of Pogradec, 42-year-old Egli Proga, father of two children, was raped to death by Denis Meçe, while the perpetrator left the scene.
He was arrested only a few days later, while the 3 people who declared that they had not seen anything from the serious event ended up in handcuffs.
