After several years of absence from public life due to the escape and the judicial process in Albania, the former Prosecutor General, Adriatik Llalla, has appeared.
The former chief prosecutor held a meeting with Adriatik Alimadhi, the chairman of the National Front. The latter has published on the Facebook social network a photo with Llalla, as they also appear making the eagle with their hands.
"A meeting after a few years with the former Prosecutor General of Albania, our family friend Adriatik Llalla", writes Adriatik Alimadhi.
The former chief prosecutor has won political asylum in Italy, at least according to his defense lawyer Sokol Hazizaj, referring to a statement in February 2023. However, on this issue SPAK stated in March 2023 that the extradition process is still ongoing in Italy and that there is no rejection of Albania's request for his extradition.
The former head of the General Prosecutor's Office, Adriatik Llalla was sentenced to two years in prison for hiding assets in September 2021, but the decision was never executed as Llalla left the country for Italy. Llalla was declared guilty by GJKKO for non-declaration and concealment of assets in 3 episodes.
He is accused of not declaring an amount of about 7,000 dollars for the birth of his son, the expenses related to the construction of the third floor of an apartment, as well as the income for his daughter's education in Germany. At the end of the trial at the other levels, the confiscation of his assets, an apartment in Durrës and about 22 thousand m2 of arable land in the suburbs of Tirana, was decided.
Llalla was arrested in December 2021 in Rome, but then due to his health condition he was released on the condition that he would be kept under surveillance by the Italian authorities.
