Tirana will be the regional capital today and tomorrow, as it welcomes the EU-WB6 Investment Forum, with the participation of leaders from the Western Balkans and the President of the European Commission, Ursula von der Leyen.
On the agenda of this forum, after the welcoming speech by Prime Minister Edi Rama, Von der Leyen will also give a speech.
Before the ceremony, Ursula von der Leyen also met with President Bajram Begaj at the Presidency and then arrived at the Prime Minister's Office where she was received by Prime Minister Edi Rama.
The forum aims to strengthen economic cooperation and investment opportunities between the Western Balkan countries (Albania, Bosnia and Herzegovina, Kosovo, Montenegro, North Macedonia and Serbia) and the member states of the European Union (EU).
Supported by the European Commission, this Forum is part of the EU's broader strategy to promote regional integration and socio-economic convergence, fostering sustainable economic development across the region.
The European Union and the six Western Balkan countries (WB6) are at a crucial juncture in their shared economic and political journey. As the EU seeks to revive its economic dynamism and ensure its global competitiveness, the Western Balkans emerge as a promising new frontier for investment.
