Ervin Salianji challenges one-year prison sentence in Supreme Court

Former DP MP Ervin Saljani has challenged in the Supreme Court the 1-year prison sentence given by the Court of Appeal of general jurisdiction.

Saljan's lawyers have submitted over 100 pages of legal arguments in which they oppose the second instance of the court that sent him to prison for false reporting.

Albana Boksi has been appointed as the rapporteur for the case, although the date and time have not yet been set.

The former MP has been in Fier prison since September 27, after the Appeals Court decided to uphold the first instance decision.

The Black Squads found him guilty regarding an audio interception that alleged that the former brother of Interior Minister Fatmir Xhafaj is involved in drug trafficking.
