A super-luxury vehicle, 'Lamborghini Urus' , circulating on the streets of Tirana has been seized after an operation finalized by Tirana's police in collaboration with the Investigation and Money Laundering Section.
The orange vehicle is worth a whopping 160,000 euros and it is suspected that the owner benefited from criminal activity.
The owner, 34-year-old Sahit Shpataj , was driving the luxury vehicle on the "Sauk-TEG" road axis when the police finalized the "Maneuver" operation and stopped the young man to communicate the seizure decision.
34-year-old Sahit Shpataj, to hide his income, which is suspected of stemming from criminal activity, had registered the luxury vehicle in the name of a private construction company owned by Ervin Dulla .
Sahit Shpataj, who lives mostly in Latin America, has refused to be stopped by police twice for a search.
But recently, after stopping it, the Blues found that the Lamborghini was registered in the name of a private company.
According to the police, this was done to justify the value and origin of the money.
The Blues have launched an investigation not only into the vehicle's owner, but also the owner of the company that had registered the vehicle as if it were for use by the business he owned.
Police announcement:
Following police operations aimed at tracking and seizing assets with criminal sources, specialists from the Money Laundering and Assets Investigation Section, in cooperation with the services of the "Eagle" Special Force, finalized operation "Maneuver".
As part of the operation, a "Lamborghini Urus" vehicle was stopped on the "Sauk-TEG" road axis, driven by citizen S. Sh., 34 years old, with a history of theft through the unjust appropriation of state duty, domestic violence and resisting police officers.
Further verifications revealed that this citizen had registered this vehicle in the name of a commercial entity owned by citizen ED, in order to justify its value. Following the procedural actions, criminal proceedings were initiated against these two citizens.
The young man is not an unknown person to the Police, as he has precedents for theft through the unjust appropriation of state duty, domestic violence, and opposition to Police officers.
In 2014, he was arrested for impersonating a police officer and taking money from citizens.
In the same year, 2024, he was arrested for domestic violence after violating the cohabitation agreement, which was later granted a protection order.
