Two people in the city of Gjirokastra have been placed in handcuffs after being accused of taking a 53-year-old hostage and threatening to take a sum of money from him.

The announcement of the event was made by the police of the southern city, clarifying that Edi Tafili and Lavdije Çaushi kept the 53-year-old in a rented apartment.

"The services of the Gjirokastër Police Station, after the notification that 2 citizens had been deprived of their freedom, a 53-year-old man, holding him against his will and threatening him with the intention of giving him a sum of money, immediately organized the work for the capture and bringing the suspected perpetrators to justice", informed the police today.
After intensive investigations, the Blues of Gjirokastra arrested a 45-year-old and a 38-year-old:

L. Ç., 45 years old, resident of Gjirokastër and ET, 38 years old, resident of Krahës, Memaliaj for the criminal offenses "Illegal Deprivation of Liberty", "Coercion through threats or violence to give property", committed in cooperation.

From the investigative actions, it is suspected that these 2 citizens, for weak motives, kept the 53-year-old SP citizen in the apartment rented by the 45-year-old woman, depriving him of his freedom, as well as threatening him to give away property. 

The procedural materials were passed to the Prosecutor's Office of Gjirokastra, for further actions.
