Edi Rama against everyone for Hashim Thaçi: He will forever remain the man who became one with fate!

Prime Minister Edi Rama has reacted in support of President Hashim Thaçi, emphasizing that Hashim's name will forever remain as the name of the man who became one with the destiny, freedom and independence of Kosovo.

He has been spurred on by reactions online, from various commentators, whom he calls "fans blinded by supposedly patriotic stupidity, who even behind bars of this screaming injustice, see and treat Hashim Thaçi as a political enemy, and wish him never to leave there again."

The Albanian Prime Minister considers it a shame for international justice and even worse for those he calls digital Albanians.

"Isn't it terrible to think that the saviors of a time when the very existence of Kosovo was on the edge of the long knife of historical injustice against Albanians, must appear before a court that is completely different from the object for which it was established, to prove that the fight for freedom is not a crime, that rebellion against a national-socialist dictatorship is not a sin, that the new and sovereign state of Kosovo did not emerge from the womb of a criminal enterprise, but from the blood of a liberation army?!" writes Edi Rama.

We recall that former Kosovo President Hashim Thaçi was arrested in November 2020, along with three other former political and military leaders of the KLA, Kadri Veseli, Jakup Krasniqi and Rexhep Selimi, after a pre-trial judge of the Special Court confirmed the indictment against the four former KLA leaders on October 26, 2020.

They are accused of war crimes and crimes against humanity.

The indictment holds Thaçi, Veseli, Krasniqi and Selimi responsible for a series of crimes allegedly committed in several detention centers during the years 1998-1999. The Specialized Prosecution accuses them of having been or should have been aware of these crimes.
