An unusual trial took place in the premises of the Fier court. The prosecution of this city has taken to the dock, taking as a defendant a 77-year-old named, Pandeli Stefa.

On July 30, 2020, the Operating Room of the Fier Police, received the notification that in the neighborhood "Sheq i Vogël", after the weapon exploded and as a result, there were injuries to living beings.

Llazi Kuqi, called the police that in his apartment, neighbor Pandeli Stefa, shot his cat with a shotgun and more specifically the cat "Pipo".

Criminal police officers went to the scene and inspected the crime scene, documenting each piece of evidence in the minutes and at the same time accompanied by a photo board.

"... in front of the entrance of the apartment, there are spots with red colors like those of blood in a continuous form ...", it is said in the minutes.

Even in the ongoing actions, for the benefit of this investigation, the police have blocked the hunting weapon, which was possessed by the defendant Pandeli Stefa, which was a single-shot rifle, of Russian brand, Baikal type, caliber 12mm.

While the cat "Pipo", who was lying injured in the backyard, was transported very urgently to a veterinary hospital, receiving first aid.

But due to the received wounds and the severe damage of one of the hind legs and the tail that could not be recovered, "Pipo" was transported abroad for a more specialized treatment.

However, since the cat had suffered great injuries and its owner, Llazi Kuqi, had been asked for 300 euros for a prosthesis to be placed on his back leg, as it could not be repaired, he had left the cat in the hospital.

From where the hospital later gave him an animal association in Italy and that the cat "Pipo" is currently in Italy, under the care of the animal association.

The Fier Prosecutor's Office registered criminal proceedings for the criminal offense of "Animal Abuse".

At trial, the perpetrator, 77-year-old defendant Pandeli Stefa, described the circumstances of the crime.

Stefa told Judge Erlanda Agaj that the cat "Pipo" until August 16, turned out to enter and leave the yard of his house and there was no damage. The 77-year-old even presented photos of Macoku in his yard.

According to him, the neighbor did not document any tax invoice, or document registered for the hospitalization of the cat and there is no evidence, how the cat passed from Albania to Italy and no address of the cat was shown.

Ilir Kuqi, the owner of the cat, has been summoned to court to testify about what had happened. Kuqi said that there were pets, a cat named "Pipo", who was taken by a kitten to one of their cousins, they adopted him and he was a little old, he went out on time and accompanied himself.

At the end of July 2020, around 08:00, Maçoku was seriously injured, when he heard a gunshot, he was asleep, when his mother called him "… Ilir, they killed the cat…".

After 2-3 hours he found the cat with a gunshot wound, broken leg and took him to the hospital.

The witness testified that the cat was shot by their neighbor in front, Pandeli Stefa, with whom they had banal conflicts, but there was never a complaint from him that the cat had harmed the birds.

Based on this situation, at the end of the trial, the prosecutor of the case, Çlirim Sino, requested before the court the guilty declaration and the fine of 1 million ALL of 77-year-old Pandeli Stefa.

While the defense was required to declare his innocence and return the double weapon to the owner.

After hearing both parties in the process, the judge of Fier, Erlanda Agaj, decided to plead guilty and sentence 77-year-old Pandeli Stefa, forcing the latter to publish the decision in the media at his own expense, because according to The court recognizes this decision, it is in the interest of the citizens and the protection of animals./Ora News
