The US Deputy Assistant Secretary of State for International Narcotics and Law Enforcement Affairs, Lisa Johnson, today held a meeting with the head of SPAK Arben Kraja and the head of BKH, Aida Hajnaj.
The American embassy in Tirana made the news known through a post on social networks, while also sharing some photos from the meeting. Johnson has expressed US support for the prosecution every step of the way.
Also, it is learned that Arben Karaja and Aida Hajnaj will travel to Washington next month to the FBI academy in Quantico.
"We are proud of the cooperation with the Special Anti-Corruption Structure. SPAK is showing results with arrests, investigations and punishments for Ministers, deputies, judges, prosecutors, mayors, figures of organized crime, etc. Congratulations to SPAK Head Arben Kraja and BKH Director Aida Hajnaj.
I met with the BKH investigators. Half of them completed training weeks ago – including a month of specialized training with the FBI. They are dedicated and energetic patriots who will pursue crime in any country and make Albanians proud. The US has closely supported SPAK at every step, from establishment to recruitment and commencement of work. We look forward to meeting again next month during their visit to Washington and the FBI Academy in Quantico, Virginia . " Ambassador Lisa Johnson is reported to have said.
We remind you that the US Department of State has declared "non grata" former Prime Minister Sali Berisha and his family, considering him corrupt, but until today we have not seen concrete actions from SPAK on this decision.
