As announced, the Socialist Party officially seeks to take over the leadership of two special parliamentary committees.
To date, the Territorial Reform Commission and the Electoral Commission have each had two leaders, from the SP and the DP.
The majority has proposed to take over the majority of members in the Territorial Reform Commission, removing the co-chair of the Democratic Party, Luciano Boçi.
If this is approved, he will retain the role of vice president of "Territoriale" and the work will be led by Arbjan Mazniku.
The Socialist Party says that this commission should have 17 members, 9 from the Socialist Party, 6 Democrats and two members from other opposition forces.
On the other hand, the DP has left the way open for the creation of two parallel committees, where they will analyze the changes they want to make to the reforms.
We look forward to seeing what happens at today's, January 29th, meeting of the Conference of Presidents.
This move by the socialist members of these committees comes after a boycott by their political opponents and the fact that there has been no development.
"Time to waste with you, we have zero! Just so you know, if you do not appear before the committee by next week, know that in 2014 we carried out the administrative-territorial reform without you. And in 2020 the electoral reform!", declared the head of the SP parliamentary group, Taulant Balla, in last week's session in Parliament.
Beyond the debates and opposition from the right, only the majority has the political power in Parliament to make this change.
