Taulant Malaj, the Albanian baker who killed his 16-year-old daughter and Italian neighbor immediately admitted to the double crime. When the Italian police officers arrested him, he was still wearing blood-stained clothes on his body, while he had left the crime weapon, a kitchen knife, in his car.

"My wife had accepted the betrayal. My wife admitted to having an affair with Massimo. He apologized to me for this relationship, but I wanted to break up", this is what the 45-year-old is said to have told the investigators, writes ANSA.

The Italian media brings his full testimony, as well as other details from the tragic event that happened late Saturday, in the palace where the Albanian family lived, in Torremaggiore, Foggia.

For ANSA, the two legal defenders of the arrested Albanian, Michele Maiellaro and Giacomo Lattanzio, provide the details. According to the Albanian's own confession, during the last few days there had been a debate in the family, always about the alleged treason, at the end of which the 45-year-old had said that he wanted to separate.

But according to him, his wife, 39-year-old Tefta Malaj, had convinced him to stay at home. It seems that Malaj, always according to his confession, had caught his wife several times on the third floor of the building, where her alleged lover lived. But something else happened on Saturday, always according to the confession that the suspected perpetrator gave to the investigators.

While the husband and wife were in bed, the woman, according to him, started texting with someone. The 45-year-old had suspected and had looked at his wife's phone, where according to him, he had discovered that she was talking to the neighbor of the house, Massimo. A little while later, he had left the house and waited until Massimo returned from a bar where he had been. As soon as he entered the door of the apartment building, he stabbed her to death.

According to his defense attorneys, Malaj told investigators that he had killed Massimo first. Then he went up to the house, where he started hitting his wife and then his daughter who was trying to protect her mother.

"At that moment, blinded by anger, he did not realize that he had his daughter in front of him and continued to hit her," say his defenders. The two lawyers, writes ANSA, talk about a strong relationship between the suspected perpetrator and his children, 16-year-old Jessica and 5-year-old son.

And according to what the two lawyers told ANSA, after admitting responsibility for the double murder, perhaps because of the confused state he was in, Malaj kept asking his daughter: "How is Jessica, is she okay?"

The boy escaped because he was hiding behind the couch. The whole macabre event resembles a horror movie. Even the way the 5-year-old boy managed to escape his father Taulant Malaj. He hid behind the couch while his father had just killed his older sister and wounded his mother. After the massacre, the first to arrive at the house were the suspected killer's brother and his wife. It was these two who found the little one hiding behind the sofa. The latter, as ANSA writes, when the carabinieri arrived, he was by their side, in an obvious state of shock. He is currently staying with the said couple.

Meanwhile, in order to clarify the existence of the alleged extramarital affair and the exchange of messages between the killer's wife and the victim, the investigators are said to have seized the mobile phones of the wife, husband and daughter.

"Malay was very calm. He arrived every evening at 11:00 PM and left at 07:00 AM. He was punctual, he never took a break." This is how the manager of the Latartara bakery in Torremaggiore described his subordinate Taulant Malay. "Even when his shift ended, he continued to work until he had closed everything," he said, reports ANSA.

Malay lived in Italy for 20 years. The couple had been married for 17 years. He had always worked as a baker. Colleagues even say that he was good at what he did. For 10 years he had worked in another bakery in Torremaggiore, while he had been in his current job since December. "He had a very calm character. It has never brought us any problems. As if he never told us about fights at home", they say in his work.

"I have only seen Taulanti's wife once, when she came here for an interview," added the employer of the suspected killer.

While conveying all the testimonies about Taulant Malaj, ANSA also brings this photo of him with his 5-year-old son. There is also a handwritten postcard in it that says: "Daddy, I love you very much. My heart beats for you".
