Other details have been made public regarding the murder that occurred yesterday evening in a bar in Saranda , where the victim was 66-year-old Rexhep Ismaili .

It is learned that a group of young people went to Rexhep Ismail's bar , which is located next to his gas station, at around 1:00 p.m.

It is known that the people who went there had a conflict with a resident of the village of Gjashtë, over a property issue.

At the moment the group of people went to the scene, the person they were in conflict with was at a table on the veranda of the bar with 66-year-old Ismaili and 3 other people.

A verbal argument immediately broke out between the parties, followed by a physical one involving hard objects. It is suspected that the perpetrators did not intend to cause a conflict with Rexhep Ismail.

 After being hit with hard objects, Ismaili entered the bar and came out with a "Kalashnikov" type firearm, opening fire several times at the group of young people.

The other group responded with a pistol, shooting Ismail once in the head, who died on the spot.

Saranda police announcement:

At around 9:30 PM, in the place called "Qafë Gjashtë", in the bar owned by citizen RI, during a conflict for motives that will be revealed during the investigation, between several people, where initially the conflict started with hard objects and then with the use of firearms, citizen RI, 66 years old, resident of Qafë Gjashtë, Saranda, was killed.

It is also suspected that another citizen was injured during the gunfire conflict, who has not yet presented himself for medical assistance and has not been identified.

From the initial investigative actions and information obtained at the scene, it is suspected that citizen LT shot and killed citizen RI and then left the scene together with the other persons involved and the citizen who is suspected of being injured.

Police services have set up checkpoints and are combing the area to capture the perpetrator and the people involved in the conflict.

At the same time, checks are being carried out in regional hospitals and private clinics, with the aim of identifying and locating the suspected injured citizen.

The investigation team is at the scene and, under the direction of the Prosecutor's Office, is continuing actions to fully clarify and legally document the incident.
