Prisons for Top News: Photo of Vangjush Dako was not taken in our facilities

The General Directorate of Prisons has reacted to a photograph published today on social media which allegedly showed the former mayor of Durrës, Vangjush Dako, in a prison cell with facilities such as a telephone and a double bed.

In a reaction to Top News, the Prisons clarified that this photograph, also shared by the leader of the Democratic Party, Sali Berisha, was not taken in any of the prison institutions.

"Regarding the photo published on social networks showing citizen Vangjush Dako, we clarify that the photo was not taken on the premises of any institution for the execution of criminal decisions (IEVP) in the Republic of Albania," the Prisons Directorate said in a response to Top News.
