A 32-year-old man in Tirana has been arrested after he placed an order online and, as soon as he noticed the couriers' arrival, under the threat of a cutting tool, stole the order without paying for it.

The 32-year-old, while committing the thefts, violated the security measure "House Arrest" for the same criminal offense.

According to the police, 3 cases of violent thefts committed by this citizen have been documented.

Police announcement:

The services of the Police Commissariat No. 4, in continuation of their work to prevent and combat criminal activity in the field of property and asset theft, based on the data received that a citizen was violating security measures and committing theft under the threat of a cutting tool, have organized and finalized the police operation codenamed "The Orderer".

As a result of which, the arrest of citizen EB, 32 years old, resident of Tirana, was made for the criminal offenses of "Theft by force" and "Removal of a prisoner from his place of residence".

This citizen ordered products (mobile phones) to his home address and when the couriers arrived to deliver the package, he threatened them with a knife, taking the mobile phone without paying.

The investigative actions resulted in this citizen committing the same illegal activity on 15, 21, and 27.12.2024.

A mobile phone, stolen on 27.12.2024, and a sum of money were seized as material evidence.

Work continues to document other thefts that may have been committed by this citizen. The materials were passed on to the Prosecutor's Office for further procedural actions.
