Sports betting near schools in Tirana, 2 people arrested, 2 others prosecuted

Police have arrested 2 people and criminally prosecuted 2 others, suspected of engaging in illegal sports betting activities in two bars near schools in Tirana.

As part of the codenamed "WEB page" operation, the police searched several premises near educational institutions, where they discovered two premises where sports bets were placed via mobile phones.

D. Gj., 24 years old, and K. Ç., 48 years old, were arrested. Meanwhile, criminal proceedings have begun against IM, 54 years old, and a 17-year-old.

According to the police, in one of the bars, which was managed by 48-year-old K. Ç., 24-year-old D. Gj. was caught placing sports bets. In the same bar, 54-year-old IM was also present, who is suspected of being involved in this activity.

At the other bar, police found a 17-year-old who worked there and placed sports bets.
