The residents of Bërxulla have moved the protest in front of the prime minister's office as they are affected by the construction of the Thumanë-Kashar highway and have not yet received the expropriation of their homes. They say they cannot evict them from the properties they have shed blood to build.
"We will stand by our property until the last moment. I will also give Edi Rama a hand for a school he built in Bëxulle and why it has its own problems because there is no electricity. We have an elder who has not been cheated of any money. And if they give me the millions, I will not sell the house because I have shed blood. I give my hand to Edi Rama, but not to seize our property. I also opened a factory, I hired my neighbors", said one of the residents.
"I am touched. Take my house and land. With that price, where will I go, where will we drown? No one has come to tell us about the price, but what we have heard. We have received nothing."
"The one who is doing the works said that you will get the expropriation of the government and I will give you an additional 2 million ALL. But who gives the property for 6 million ALL? We have gone to all the relevant institutions and they have brought us answers that they have no notification about this project. I understand how the works have started. Normally the government is aware that they cannot come. If we become home, we don't leave our homes. Come talk to us. 50 flats and 30 hectares in total are affected. We will raise our voice, this battle will be very strong. We will protect it with blood. It is the sweat of my parents. And I have shed my sweat. "Property is property and cannot be released," said another.
