The Korça Court has upheld the prison sentence for 67-year-old Rushan Selko, who is accused of raping and impregnating a 12-year-old girl. 

According to the Korça police, Selko sexually abused his underage neighbor in August. The serious incident took place in the 67-year-old's apartment in the village of Piskupat in the municipality of Pogradec.

During this period, he threatened the minor not to tell anyone about what had happened, and the case was discovered by the minor's parents who noticed her physical changes.

The medical examination revealed that the girl was 22 weeks pregnant, and she then confessed the entire serious incident. 

The accused requested the security measure of arrest in prison for the 67-year-old, which was accepted by the court. The hearing, held behind closed doors, lasted more than two hours.

Sources inside the court hearing indicate that the 67-year-old has not admitted to sexually abusing the minor. Meanwhile, it is learned that a fetal sample was taken from the girl to conduct a DNA analysis to prove the paternity of the child.

It is expected that the results of the analysis, which will shed light on the serious incident, will be released in 2-3 weeks.
