11 young citizens, 8 of whom are from Kosovo, were sworn in today before the Mayor of Tirana, Erion Veliaj, after receiving Albanian citizenship. Among them was the internationally famous dancer, Eno Peçi.
At the swearing-in ceremony, Mayor Veliaj congratulated everyone on their new journey as citizens of Albania, while inviting them to become part of the daily activities that take place in Tirana.
"We had an extraordinary start to the year. We started with the B40 Presidency, then the visit of the US Secretary of State took place, then the Summit for Ukraine and the Western Balkans took place. From next week Tirana will have an infinity of activities with Summer Day, then throughout the year we will work to give more life to the city. Next year, Tirana will be the Mediterranean Capital of Culture and Dialogue. I hope that I will see you in many activities, you will be active in the life of the city. I wish you much success and I hope you will make your contribution and enrich the life of our city, together with your families and with your new citizenship in this team which is our team Albania", said Veliaj.
He added that his great wish is that the young citizens of Tirana support each other in good days and in difficult days. "My belief is to be together even on good days, but also on days when we have challenges and difficulties. Being together doubles the joys; when we are in trouble, being together cuts the trouble in half. I really hope you believe in this mission", Veliaj concluded.
