The Minister of Energy, Belinda Balluku, said today that a decision has not yet been taken on the official bandage that will be a shield for energy consumption.

Previously, it was discussed that it should be 800 kWh and above this limit it should be paid at the market price. The decision is expected to be made in October.

"A concrete study has been done and how many families are affected and how much this price will be. We intend not to touch the market price.

Last night at 20:00 the price on the Hungarian stock exchange we refer to reached 1040 euros per MWh. You can calculate yourself how much kilowatt per hour is and if we were to expose our citizens to these prices it would be impossible.

However, the 800 kWh bundle has several proposals from the Distribution Operator and the Ministry of Infrastructure and Energy. They will be discussed by the Council of Ministers to choose what will be best to optimize the finances of the sector.

But also to differentiate the social shield that we give to the citizen for the needs of a family in terms of electricity. Then those citizens who decide to spend more but it remains at their discretion to pay a higher price ", said Balluku.
