More than 100 Saudi warplanes are taking part in the offensive launched by the Yemeni government against the Houthi rebels, who are backed by Iran, the Riyadh-led military coalition announced.

According to coalition spokesman General Turki al-Maliki, 100 warplanes took part in the operation, dubbed "Yemen Dawn," which began in the early hours of the morning.

He stated that the coalition is providing air support 24 hours a day to the Yemeni armed forces fighting on the ground.

"Since the start of the operation, we have destroyed 324 high-value targets," al-Maliki said in a post on the X platform.

The coalition also announced that it is providing air cover in the Bab el-Mandab Strait, one of the most important strategic points for international maritime trade. According to the spokesman, operations against mobile Houthi targets continue.

Operation "Yemen Dawn" aims to support Yemeni government forces in their efforts to recapture territories controlled by Houthi rebels.
