Germany faces a growing risk of being drawn into a "violent conflict" with Russia: The warning comes from the head of the German Federal Intelligence Service himself, Martin Jaeger, who spoke during a public hearing of the Parliamentary Committee for the Control of Secret Services in the Bundestag.

"The confrontation with Russia has entered a new and more dangerous dimension," he declared, emphasizing that the attempted assassination in Leipzig is just one example of the threats the country faces.

The head of German foreign intelligence stressed that Moscow currently poses the most direct, broad and concrete threat to Germany.

Jaeger also warned that Russian secret services are acting "with great professionalism and without scruples." According to him, the risk of attacks on targets on German territory remains real and immediate.

Meanwhile, foreign media reported that Estonia is moving one of its main army brigades to Jõhvi, about 50 kilometers from the border with Russia. The Baltic country appears to be preparing for a possible scenario of aggression by Moscow.

The country has adopted a strategy of “active defense,” which aims to stop an attack in its early stages. In addition to strengthening troops near the border, Estonia is building a new base in Narva and significantly increasing its long-range strike capabilities, including HIMARS and Chunmoo systems.
