What stands out is the inclusion for the first time in this list of a footballer of Albanian origin, Granit Xhaka.

Regarding the news, Ragip Xhaka, the football player's father, also reacted, who made an emotional post on social networks.

He writes that his son's tireless work has made his dreams come true, making the whole family proud.

Today is a special day and filled with great pride for me and our family. My son, Graniti, has been nominated for the prestigious Ballon d'Or award. He is the first Albanian and at the same time the only Swiss player who has reached this level in the world of football, and for that we are extremely happy and excited.

His hard work, dedication and sacrifices have made his dreams come true and the name of Albanians written in history. I thank you all for the support and love you have given Granit over the years.
