Tonight at the Théâtre du Châtelet in Paris, the awards for the "Golden Ball 2024" trophy, the trophy awarded by France Football to the best footballer of the year, were awarded. Of course, it is not only that trophy that will be awarded tonight, because there are many others in the game.

The Kopa award, which is reserved for the best young player, was won by Lamine Yamal (Barcelona), who is the youngest in history to receive this award.

Real Madrid, the European and Spanish champions, were named the best men's team, while Barcelona were named the best women's team. During the ceremony, there was also an emotional moment with the tribute to Franz Beckenbauer, who passed away on January 7, 2024.

Harry Kane and Kylian Mbappé jointly won the Gerd Müller Award after scoring 52 goals each, the award given to the player who has scored the most goals for both club and country in a single season.

Lautaro Martinez handed the Yashin award, reserved for the best goalkeeper, to his national team-mate Emiliano Martinez, who repeated the feat in 2023. Gigio Donnarumma finished fourth, Mike Maignan fifth and Yann Sommer sixth.

Jenni Hermoso received the Socrates Award, a trophy given to players for their charitable initiatives in favor of social integration, environmental development, or assistance to populations in great difficulty or victims of conflicts.
