Luis Rubiales

Luis Rubiales, in an interview given to British journalist Piers Morgan, announced his resignation as president of the Spanish Football Federation.

The gesture of Luis Rubiales, as he kissed Jenny Hermoso at the Women's World Cup ceremony in Sydney, caused an uproar and reactions, as the Spanish footballer also denounced him to the Prosecutor's Office for this non-consensual action.

Rubiales gave an interview to the British journalist Piers Morgan and declared that he will resign, as he cannot continue his work after this.

To the question of whether he will resign, he answered: "Yes, I will do so, because I cannot continue my work."

And he went on to say: "I take this decision, making sure that my departure will contribute to the stability that will allow us to bring the 2030 World Cup to our country.

I have submitted my resignation to the Spanish Football Federation and the UEFA vice-president. In those five years I had the great privilege of leading the Spanish federation. I don't want Spanish football to suffer any damage".
