The 2026 European Adult Wrestling Championship will be held in Albania

The European Senior Wrestling Championship will be organized in Tirana from April 20 to 26, 2026. The World Wrestling Federation has entrusted our country with this important event, as a recognition of the growth of this sports discipline in our country.

The Albanian Wrestling Federation has announced that this is a historic step for the sport of wrestling in our country.

"Another great achievement for the Albanian Wrestling Federation. We are proud to announce that the World Federation has entrusted us with the organization of one of the most prestigious events in the sport of wrestling, the European Senior Championship. This is a historic step for our sport, an opportunity to show the values, passion and dedication of Albania in the international arena," writes the FSHM.

On the other hand, in the letter that the head of the World Weightlifting Federation sends to the head of Albanian Wrestling, Sahit Prizreni, confidence in such an event is shown.

"I am pleased to announce that you have been officially selected to organize the European Senior Wrestling Championships, which will take place from 20 - 26 April 2026 in Tirana. On behalf of the World Wrestling Federation, I thank you for accepting this significant challenge," the letter signed by Nenad Lalovic states.

This event comes to our country after wrestlers representing Albania, Islam Dudaev, Zelimkhan Abakarov or Chermen Valiev, have excelled in the international arena.
