The Albanian national team was defeated 2-0 in the transfer from the Czech Republic, in the match valid for the League of Nations. A challenge that spoke more for the locals, but there were no shortage of opportunities for Albania either, which after this defeat drops to third place in the ranking of group B1.
This for the Czechs was like a revenge for them, after they were defeated in the European qualifiers, 3-0 in Air Albania.
The match started badly for the red and blacks, who found themselves at a disadvantage in the 3rd minute, when Chory, after a cross received from the left, used it correctly and stopped the ball at the end of the net. After this goal, Silvinho's team had a hard time getting ahead and as a result, the Czechs continued their attacks in search of the equalizing goal.
The first dangerous case for Albania was the one in the 24th minute, when Bajrami tried a strong shot from outside the area, but the ball went next to the post. A very good opportunity was the one in the 36th minute, where Qazim Laçi and Kristjan Asllani were not understood properly near the area.
The first half ended with the minimal advantage of the Czech Republic, while the second fraction started with the more demanding Albania. In the 52nd minute, Jasir Asani had the ideal opportunity to equalize the numbers, but he missed everything by shooting over the crossbar.
The Czechs gave the second blow in the 63rd minute, when Chory, unmarked in the area, managed to score with his head for 2-0. The Reds tried to react and came close to the goal on two occasions with Asllan and Tuci, whose shots were stopped by goalkeeper Kovar.
The score did not change until the end and the game ended with the victory of the Czechs, who move up to the second place in the group with 6 points, the same as the leading Georgia.
With this loss, Albania drops to third place with 3 points, after three games.
