The Democratic Party has requested the cessation of discussions in the Laws Committee on territorial reform and the waiting for responses from municipalities on the opposition draft, which envisages increasing the number of municipalities to 100.

During the Committee meeting, DP MP Oerd Bylykbashi requested that the discussion not continue with the voting process, as according to him, the opposition's project has been sent for consultation to local units.

"Don't vote, our project has been sent for consultation," said Bylykbashi.

DP MP Jorida Tabaku also raised concerns about the lack of consultation with the Municipality of Tirana.

She referred to the statements of Mayor Erion Veliaj, describing his concerns as serious.
