The Democratic Party has reacted regarding the situation aggravated by fires throughout the country.

In a statement to the media, the DP calls on citizens and tourists to be careful and leave the endangered areas. DP holds Prime Minister Edi Rama responsible for the serious situation and the lack of funding for the fire brigade.

DP statement:

From South to North, Albania has been invaded by fires.

Meanwhile, we call on residents, citizens and tourists to show increased caution, to leave threatened areas as soon as possible, and to help anyone at risk. The Democratic Party expresses its deep indignation at the minimalist and almost ridiculous reaction of the authorities.

Not only are interventions delayed, but it is the lack of alert and commitment that makes the situation seem even more chaotic, threatening and depressing.

Fires, floods, natural disasters are repeated in Albania, as in the whole world, and this is not in the hands of governments, but preparations, readiness, will, are their duty and in their hands.

As we have seen for years, the government sends the army and firefighters, who attack the fires with bushes, shovels and blankets, as in a Third World country, or just out of war and in the absence of basic tools.

We have been seeing a different picture for three weeks in Theth, Tirana and everywhere in Albania.

In order to demolish the guesthouses in Theth and take money from the oregano seller in Saranda, the government sent IMT, Taxes, Police and Army, with heavy tools, arrogantly, armed to the teeth, to war with the citizens.

For Edi Rama, the absolute priority is the usurpation of local power, not the fires and dozens of problems that threaten citizens and their lives.

For Edi Rama, the priority is the spectacle with the "Albania 1" and "2" satellites, or drones for which, after throwing them on Facebook to boast, there is no one to read them or who to command them. Because, Edi Rama has made the army of a NATO country, an organization that goes to extinguish fires with bushes and wages.

Therefore, dealing with fires and natural disasters that threaten citizens is dumb.

It will be like this this summer and next, because Edi Rama does not remember or take care of the state's infrastructure, emergency funds, the modernization of search and rescue teams. The money he receives from taxes is a luxury expense for himself and ministers, trips with a carter, expensive concerts or a 4 million euro garden in the courtyard of the Prime Minister.

Edi Rama is on vacation, after making a noise with the directors, with the removal of tents and the terrorization of Thethi, but the fires do not rest and the forests, territory, businesses, homes and lives of citizens are in danger.

Edi Rama is not a firefighter, but he cannot be allowed to be the Prime Minister who throws Albania into the fire.
