After the informal dinner and meetings in Athens with the leaders of Greece and Ukraine, the President of Serbia, Aleksandar Vucic, declared that none of these two states will recognize the independence of Kosovo.
"I explained to him the situation about Kosovo, I think there will be no changes in Ukraine's relationship with the Republic of Serbia and respect for territorial integrity, and I think this was an important job for us," Vucic was quoted as saying by KosovaPress .
He added that he has been informed by Greek officials that they will not change their position regarding the recognition of Kosovo's independence.
"Last night I talked with the foreign minister and many other Greek officials, I believe that today I will have good talks with Kyriakos Mitsotakis about the centuries-old friendship and we will continue in this direction. He told me last night that there will be no change in Greece's position on the issue of accepting Kosovo's independence", Vucic is quoted as saying.
During the informal meeting in Athens, the President of Serbia demanded an account of why the Prime Minister of Kosovo, Albin Kurti, was invited, given that Greece does not recognize Kosovo as an independent state. But in Tuesday's statement, he called Greece's position right.
"I didn't mind why Kurti was there. In no place was Kosovo or Serbia written, but only Belgrade and Pristina... There were no flags", Vučič is quoted as saying.
