Two young men, who started a fire on Mount Partizan in Berat, causing the burning of a significant area of ​​pine trees, have been identified and put in police custody.

They were filmed by security cameras as they lit a fire near a business and fled on a motorbike. The reasons for the arson are not yet known.

Meanwhile, Interior Minister Taulant Balla reacted to their arrest, reminding citizens that arson is a serious criminal offense punishable by up to 15 years in prison.

"Fires in the country! Yesterday, the images of the moment when two people intentionally set fire to a forest massif on Mount Partizan were made public in the national media. Today, the State Police succeeded in identifying the two arsonists, arrested them and is continuing the work to document the damage caused to the environment, private and public property.
