The former Greek Deputy Foreign Minister in the SYRIZA government, Nikos Xydakis, commented in an interview today on the case of Fredi Beleri. His statement has caused debates and questions in the neighboring country, since unlike other Greek politicians, Xydakis has claimed that Beleri has a dark political history.
According to him, Beleri is not an innocent man and should have cleared his image long ago so that he would not become a thorn in the diplomatic relations between Albania and Greece.
"Athens and Tirana know Beler's role. He is not an innocent man, he has a political history and a dark history. Should have cleaned up this story many months ago. And not to become a diplomatic thorn in the not so good relations between Athens and Tirana ", he said.
It should be noted that Ξυδάκης, who appears on television and says these things, has become Deputy Foreign Minister.

Meanwhile, the Special Court against Corruption and Organized Crime left Fredi Beleri in prison today, not accepting his request for the replacement of the security measure.
Beleri had asked for a more lenient security measure. But the judging panel did not accept this request and left Fredi Beler in the cell again.
While Beler's defense lawyer, Edmond Demo, stated that his client is being held politically in prison.
Speaking to journalists after the end of the court session, the lawyer said that Fredi Beleri asked in the session to be released and to be sworn in as the elected mayor of Himara.
