The Democratic Party of Lulzim Basha suffered the first blow by having only one member of the election commissions, while it is predicted that there will be no members in the vote counting groups for the elections in the municipality of Kukës. This is due to the fact that the CEC has defined Ilir Meta's Freedom Party as the second opposition party.
The spokeswoman of the DP, Mirel Karabina, reacted to a decision made the day before by the CEC, attacking the chief commissioner Ilirian Celibashin.
"Precisely at these moments, State Commissioner Celibashi does the next service to the political oligarchy against the Democratic Party, appoints Ilir Meta's Freedom Party as the largest opposition party in violation of the Electoral Code, interpreting the law and not implementing it. Nor more or less, the same intentional confusing action for the democrats and the opposition electorate as in the May 14 elections when Commissioner Celibashi, an unprecedented case, determined "emotionally" and not institutionally who is the majority in the DP and prevented registration in time of her for the local elections', Karabina said, among other things.
