Former Prime Minister Sali Berisha has responded to journalist Mero Baze, regarding the latter's statement that businessman Agim Zeqo paid the expenses of his treatment in Vienna.

Berisha said today during a press conference that he has no connection with Agim Zeqo, who is one of the two businessmen who will build the "Mountain Tower of Tirana", and neither did he when he was in government.

After this statement, the journalist Mero Baze reacted, saying that Agim Zeqo has boasted about the honor he has done to Bersha, showing Zeqo himself that he paid the expenses of his treatment in Vienna.

But in a last reaction, Berisha attacks the journalist and says that he has nothing to do with Zeko.

The spokeswoman of the Democratic Party brings the following comment of Mr. Berisha:

"Today, the paid slanderer Ymer Çorapja, whom I dismissed because he stuck to my shoes like mud to pass goods without customs, etc., released the next low slander. According to him, the businessman Agim Zeqo paid me medical expenses in Vienna.

Regarding this amoral slander of his, I clarify that Agim Zeqo and no other businessman, Albanian or foreign, has ever paid a single penny for my health care in Albania and in any other country in the world."
