Prime Minister Edi Rama reacts to the SPAK arrests these hot summer days. 

Former Deputy Minister of Health Klodjan Rjepaj and businessman Ilir Rrapaj, the owner of the company Investital LLC, were arrested by order of SPAK after being accused of abuse of office and fraud related to the sterilization concession file worth 100 million euros.

Rama's reaction:

The continuous work of SPAK and GjKKO even in August deserves respect and thanks!

On this occasion, let's recall who promised, started and enabled the Justice Reform, after a long time of Albania languishing in the mire of injustice, when no one had the courage to even think about it, let alone make justice independent of the government.

SPAK and the National Bureau of Investigation did not fall from the sky, they came into being as an expression of sincere and unwavering state-building will. They were not beautiful words like those of the past 100 years, when I and the Socialist Party pledged to the Albanian people that we will build a new, independent, European justice that will put an end to the cancer of impunity.

Kjo drejtësi sot ka lindur e po rritet përditë, sepse Partia Socialiste e Shqipërisë mbajti zotimin e saj më solemn e më të vështirë për të realizuar, përballë 100 viteve përqeshjeje me drejtësinë në historinë e shtetit shqiptar, kur nuk u prek kurrë dot nga drejtësia asnjë individ i pushtetshëm apo i lidhur me pushtetin, ku drejtësia ishte një shëmtirë e fortë me të dobëtit dhe e dobët me të fortët.

Disa flasin sot sikur SPAK-u është dallga e Zotit dhe qeveria porti i Djallit. Po ata harrojnë se dallgën e drejtësisë e ka ngritur në krye të herës guximi, vullneti dhe ambicia për Shqipërinë e pikërisht kësaj qeverie, e cila ndryshon si dita me natën me ato të mëparshmet e 100 vjetëve pengmarrje të drejtësisë. Kjo qeveri dhe askush tjetër e hapi me gjoks rrugën e drejtësisë së re dhe kurrë nuk do ta pengojë drejtësinë në rrugën e vet, kudo ku ajo të hyjë, brenda qeverisë, rrotull saj, mbrapa saj apo nën ombrellën e saj.

Thanks to the belief that this country is becoming and the power of this government to give up the control of justice, and to support it unconditionally against corruption and organized crime, European Albania, which is growing day by day among 1000 challenges, obstacles and difficulties, will prove to itself and the world that history is not an eternal curse, that history is written by the people of each generation with the strength of their dreams, hopes, and perseverance, and that in climbing to the top, the generations that deserve come, this country no longer has the strength to stop it from writing a new history
