The Greek media have commented on the triumph of Vangjel Tavos against Petro Gjikuri in the elections for the municipality of Himara as a victory for Edi Rama's chosen one.

Protothema describes Tavon as Rama's man who has collected 59% of the votes (4858 votes), while Petro Gjikuri is the supporter of the Greek minority who has received 41% (3400 votes).

" The battle was by all means to prevent another unpleasant surprise with the election of Petro Gjikuri, who is supported by Omonia and the opposition parties and is the successor of Fredi Beleri who won the May 2023 elections, and that the "imported" former candidate - Deputy of the Socialist Party Vangjel Tavo, who comes from Dropulli, to win ", writes the Greek media.

Meanwhile, on SKAI television, the representatives of OMONIA after the loss of Gjikuria stated that "terrorism won in Himare".
