The chairman of the Democratic Party, Sali Berisha, called the exclusion from voting of the citizens of Himara whose identity cards or passports had expired an unconstitutional act.

"By order of Edi Rama, hundreds of citizens identified as mainly opposition supporters were not allowed to vote today due to the date of their identity cards. This is an unprecedented act, an electoral state crime, a violation of the Constitution whose sole purpose is the manipulation of the election result by Edvin Gjipea" , writes Berisha on Facebook.

The chairman of the Democratic Party added that this standard was not implemented in the May 14 elections, while according to him, in the laws of the country, even after the issuance of biometric cards in its absence, the old ID cards that fully proved the identity of the person were accepted.

"The exclusion of hundreds of voters from the right to vote, the deliberate and programmed change of the voting centers of hundreds of citizens, the addition to the voting lists of hundreds of citizens from Dropulli, Saranda or the rich people of tourist villas on the coast are illegal mafia actions that accuse directly Edi Ramen and Vangjel Tavon for ugly electoral crime. The Democratic Party condemns with the greatest force these serious unconstitutional acts of Edi Gjipe and his puppet Vangjel Tavo and guarantees that justice delays, but does not forget", concludes Berisha.
