The elections in Himare, the highest participation than in the 2023 elections

The citizens of Himara went to the polls this Sunday to elect their new mayor, after a year of chaos and awaiting court decisions on the winner of the May 14 election, Fredi Beleri.

The management of the coastal municipality will be discussed between Vangjel Tavos from the socialist camp and Petro Gjikurija from the opposition coalition.

Of the 23,074 voters registered in the lists of the municipality of Himara, 8333 of the 34 VCs reported until 19:00 went to the boxes to express their will by voting, this figure is calculated at 37.69%.

All 36 voting centers in Himare were closed at 19:00.

The participation in these elections turns out to have increased by 3.42%, compared to the local elections of 2023 where the participation was 34.27%.

According to the CEC, on May 14 last year, 7,821 people voted in Himare.

Fredi Beleri received 3840 votes, only 19 votes more than the former socialist mayor Jorgo Goro, who received 3821 votes.
