The head of the CEC, Ilirjan Celibashi, said that the problem of the expired cards of 6,000 voters of Himara does not belong to the CEC and that it should be solved before, not on the last day.

He emphasized that there was no official request from the political parties for the CEC to communicate with representatives of the government and the Ministry of the Interior to issue an order to resolve this problem, as happened in the local elections on May 14.

Celibashi:  It has nothing to do with the CEC's responsibilities, but it remains outside the electoral process in its foundation. There are about 6 thousand voters whose document has either expired or will expire until today, I mean that almost the same figure was in the last elections, they did not have a valid ID document. Why a decision was not made by the council, I cannot say.

We made this communication when there was an official request from the political parties, there was no official communication, we had it informally, there remains an issue that is outside the scope of the preparation and attention that should be given to the KCC.

We have not had communication with representatives of the government and the Ministry of the Interior because it would not be a solution, this issue should have been resolved before, we have no reason to hesitate, it is related to the interest of the voters themselves, they are the first to assess whether or not they are interested in have a means of identification. Also for political parties and other interested subjects. It is an interest related to the voters themselves, the candidates and the participants in the race.
