Citizens with expired ID cards are not allowed to vote in Himarë, CEC: We are not the competent body for postponing the deadlines

The CEC has reacted to the problem with expired identity cards.

"CEC brings to attention that it is not the competent body for postponing the validity periods of identification documents.

For voters over 75 years of age, the validity of identification documents is unlimited. This is defined in law no. 89/2020, dated 07/09/2020 "For an addition to law no. 8952, dated 10.10.2002 "On the electronic identity card of Albanian citizens", as amended", is written in the reaction of the CEC.
