After the group meeting, Edi Rama traveled to Brussels, where he met with the President of the European Council, Antonio Costa.
For days, Rama's visit has been commented on as a meeting called by Kosta to draw his attention to the obligation not to interfere in justice matters.
However, official government sources indicate that Rama is with a small delegation, accompanied on this trip only by the Minister for Public Administration, Adea Pirdeni, and that the meeting with Antonio Costa is an informal dinner.
According to the same sources, there are no official meetings on the agenda.
The press office of the President of the European Council told Albanian media that:
"The meeting of the President of the European Council Antonio Costa with the Albanian Prime Minister Edi Rama will take place in the evening. This is a working dinner, in the context of the political dialogue that is taking place with Albania and other candidate countries for EU membership."
