Blendi Klosi, Secretary General of the Socialist Party, spoke this Monday to Euronews Albania regarding the Constitutional Court's decision regarding the suspension of Belinda Balluku.
Klosi said that following the Prime Minister's decision after the SP group meeting, according to him, their political force will maintain the principle of support for justice, but will not agree to intervene in the government elected by the people to suspend a minister as a non-delegable function.
"For the sake of the chronicle, there is no decision of the Constitutional Court, but as far as the relationship with the SP is concerned, we stand very strongly by some principles. First, support for the new justice system and the bodies of the new justice system and what the new justice system decides. The biggest discussion is about the procedures, which is something else.
Regarding the Constitutional Court's decision, we continue to firmly adhere to the principle on which the Prime Minister also reacted, the relationship between institutions, which is justice on one side, and the executive branch, regarding positions that are delegable. Can they be suspended or not?
"The Parliament or the Prime Minister themselves did not clarify this decision. This is a clear decision for us, where we will never accept that a body that is not elected by the citizens, suspends a minister, a function that cannot be delegated," said Klosi.
