Mirela Bogdani, chairwoman of the High Prosecutorial Council, was asked in parliament about the safety of prosecutors and for the first time revealed the number of people accused of the crime who have requested protection for themselves and their families.

" For 2024, there are about 11 prosecutors who have made requests, and the request has been approved to have full protection not only for them, but also for their families. For 2025, there are seven such requests ," she said.

Ms. Bogdani was asked by MP Xhelal Mziu to point out specific cases of threats against prosecutors, including possible threats against SPAK prosecutor Dritan Prençi.

" Officially, they have not reached the KLP. Whenever they have had concerns, the prosecutors themselves have requested that the KLP react with public statements.  I have no information about threats. We have no information from Mr. Prençi. That means there is no pressure ," she declared.

The number one of the KLP was also asked about the progress of the election of the new head of SPAK.

" Regarding the procedure for electing the head of SPAK, I believe that it will probably be the beginning of December, but we are negotiating the date. I believe that it is a process that will end in early December so that the new justice can make the transition, or take office in a more natural way. It could be before December 16, when the current head's mandate ends , " said Bogdani.

Mirela Bogdani acknowledged before parliament the delays in the process of electing the head of the BKH, however, she indicated the date when Aida Hajnaj's successor will be in office.
