Prime Minister Edi Rama and other representatives of the government and the justice system participated this Thursday in a joint roundtable where the program for the international justice center competition was presented.

The project envisages a new urban pole of justice system buildings on an area of ??over 52 thousand square meters.

In his speech, Prime Minister Rama asked the judiciary to embrace technology as a means to increase the standards of services it offers to citizens and to be included in the e-Albania system. 

"Here, the government of the judiciary certainly has an important role and it must do it, it must play this role, but interaction with the entire system of the Republic of Albania is necessary. We all take water from the same source, but each one opens and closes the tap according to his needs.

"It is not possible that in the name of independence we each demand our own hydroelectric power plant to get energy and each our own water supply company to get water. This is the concept and this is very important to guarantee that this project we have is a project that also functions from this point of view," Rama declared.

But not only the merger with e-Albanian. Rama said that technology could replace several positions in the justice system in the coming years. He proposed to the magistrates that, if they want, the Government could start working on legal assistants with artificial intelligence, which could be ready within a year.

"I believe that I am not saying anything strange if I say that in the next 4-5 years, the legal assistant will no longer exist as a profession, that it will be artificial intelligence. It is said that not only the legal assistant, but also others, but we are talking about the legal assistant and if you want us to work on a project for the legal assistant with artificial intelligence, I assure you that within a year, you will have a legal assistant that is at a much higher level than all the legal assistants you have, because he will know much more", added the Prime Minister.

Regarding the project for the construction of the justice center buildings, Rama stated that it will take at least five years for its full completion.
